Our fantastic team in the cardiology department at South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (and a few of our friends & families) are pledging to contribute our miles to the Pumping Marvellous Foundation's Global Race to Beat Heart Failure. We help to provide care for many people with heart failure and, although advances in diagnosis & treatment have had a really positive impact on this condition, there is still so much more we can do to improve outcomes. Pumping Marvellous play a hugely significant role in promoting self care and helping to improve patient pathways.

Heart failure impacts up to 1,000,000 people in the UK, over 6 million in the US, 15 million in Europe and approximately 64 million globally. It is an endemic event of significant proportion across our societies. Yet, most people don't know or have heard of it.
