My Story

Can you support Team Pumping Marvellous as they take on the Yorkshire Tough Mudder this summer?

On Saturday 29th July 2023, 18 marvellous people will tackle this action-packed, muddy course to support the 1 million people in the UK living with heart failure.

Meet The Team, and find out why they are taking on the challenge !....

Tobey - Because it looks fun.......

Aimee - To escape the ordinary and try something new........

Shelly- Because Ryan made me do it!.........

Ryan - For the challenge, the charity and the fun getting dirty in the mud.........

Dan- It seemed like a good idea at the time.........

Mike- To help raise awareness for heart failure and thought it might be fun to get wet and electrocuted!.........

Rich- I'm doing the Toughmudder as yet another mad exercise in showing heart failure hasn't beaten me, and because Kate bullied me into it!........

I'm Kate!... I made Rich do this as part of a cunning plan of vengeance after he 'made' me do the Great North Run last year... I am now regretting this evil plan of mine!......

About the Pumping Marvellous Foundation

The Pumping Marvellous Foundation (PMF) is the UK's patient led Heart Failure charity, founded by a Heart Failure patient whose experiences shaped the goals and principles of improved patient outcomes.

About Heart Failure

Heart Failure is a life-threatening condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood around the body. It impacts all age groups.

  • It affects approximately 1 million people in the UK and 64 million people worldwide.
  • It is a chronic disease where around 50% of patients will die within five years of diagnosis.
  • Heart Failure mortality risk is worse than some of the most common cancers (prostate, breast, and bladder cancer).
  • It is the leading cause of hospitalisation for those over 65. It represents a significant clinical and economic burden.

About the BeatHF Campaign

The Pumping Marvellous Foundation has been running a national campaign to raise awareness to make heart failure clearer for everyone.
